Looks like I'm highlighting the youngest of the extra hands we've been blessed with this week and their little contributions and happiness they add to the day!

7/21- Chicken Butchering Day {Part One} and we found we have a fascinated & eager new helper this year... She is a chicken plucker switch flipper extraordinaire. I'll be posting thoughts on our second year raising the Freedom Ranger Broilers soon, including all the stats, but the question is- was the first year a fluke or have we found the meat broiler of choice for our homestead?

7/23- Garden companion bringing added joy to the cucumber harvesting...

7/25- Halter training Pepper...  Doesn't she think she's something else!?? That little calf is just her size!

7/26- RAIN!!!! We were BLESSED with 1.84" of glorious rain this week. We lost the rest of our oat crop to the ground and a heavy shower brought down several dozen stalks of corn bowing to the ground but the mixed blessing was a small sacrifice I know and I'm so thankful that the "abnormally dry" line on the drought monitor is creeping closer to our home.

7/28- Saturday was so full of work and I didn't think of my camera until just before bedtime. But I did think of it!!! And snapped a photo of my last chore before bed- Saturday night haircuts. I don't cut hair every Saturday night, but I always cut hair on a Saturday night. Fresh fuzzy Sabbath noggins are always enjoyable!
